This class will introduce students to basic movements such as body isolations, hits, waves, and grooves. While there are many styles under the Hip Hop/Urban Dance umbrella (such as breaking, house, krump, popping, waacking, voguing, locking, etc.), we will be focusing on social hip hop. Social hip hop is a style that includes popular dance moves ranging from old school social hip hop moves such as the “Bart Simpson” and “Robocop” to new school social hip hop moves such as the “Stanky Leg” and “Nae-nae.”
There is no previous experience required for this class.
Throughout the session, the students will be working on freestyling and learning a routine with formations and transitions. On the last day of class we invite the families to film the students performing the routine with special lighting and our House of Dance outfits.
