This class will introduce students to basic movements such as body isolations, hits, waves, and grooves. While there are many styles under the Hip Hop/Urban Dance umbrella (such as breaking, house, krump, popping, waacking, voguing, locking, etc.), we will be focusing on social hip hop. Social hip hop is a style that includes popular dance moves ranging from old school social hip hop moves such as the “Bart Simpson” and “Robocop” to new school social hip hop moves such as the “Stanky Leg” and “Nae-nae.”
There is no previous experience required for this class. Throughout the 10 week session, students will learn and build on a new routine each week.
